City weddings...

Capturing couple shots on a wedding day in the city offers a unique blend of urban charm, architectural beauty, and vibrant energy.

Capturing energy, architecture & atmosphere...

City wedding photography is all about capturing the unique energy, architecture, and atmosphere of an urban setting. It involves blending the couple's love story with the dynamic elements of the city, resulting in stunning, contemporary images.

First look photographs...

Gini & Peter chose to have a first look photoshoot ahead of their wedding ceremony at the Canonbury Tavern in Islington, London. We planned to walk to Canonbury Square to shoot their first look images.

Gini's wedding dress and bouquet looked beautiful against the backdrop of buildings and gardens of the square. Peter looking dapper in his suit.

Canonbury Square was a perfect backdrop to Gini & Peter's couple shots.

Getting technical...

I like to use my prime lenses for portraits and my wide angle zoom lens to capture a wide shot of the square and all its details.

I look for interesting textures, such as brick walls, metal doors, or glass facades, for close-up portraits.

Whether it’s a rooftop with a skyline view or a chic loft in a trendy neighborhood, city venues often provide a unique and memorable backdrop.

The city’s architecture, streetscapes, and landmarks provide incredible opportunities for wedding photography.

I like to use my special lenses to create atmospheric photographs - giving the illusion of free lensing, I call these lenses my 'wonky lenses'!

My 'wonky lenses' in action here...

On Gini & Peter's wedding day we were very lucky with the Spring weather! We made the most of the beautiful sunset!

We chased the sun between the buildings to get some beautiful moody sunset images.

The contrast between the city's hustle and the intimacy of a wedding adds depth and character to the couple images.

Even just a black garage door really does the job as the backdrop to the portraits.

As the sun dipped down behind the buildings, the light was perfect for Gini & Peter's portraits. I always like to take single portraits of the couple too.

Gini & Peter really rocked their portrait shots.

Even this front garden, with the biggest hedge imaginable, can make for a fabulous backdrop.

Finally, would it be a wedding in London without a red Telephone box in a shot or two?!

THANK YOU

Thank you to Gini & Peter for booking me to capture their city wedding. It was something different presenting it's own challenges in terms of light and shaddow but I think I nailed it!
